ParrisWhittaker Law firm is delighted to announce that our success this year was awarded by the 2022 Global Excellence Awards in Best Commercial & Trust Litigation Firm 2022 – the Bahamas.

Successful year for ParrisWhittaker 

2022 was an incredibly successful year for ParrisWhittaker. Recognition as legal experts, rapid expansion, courtroom results, and more, 2022 left us much space to work hard for even better results in 2023 and appreciate all opportunities that came our way.

The year started with a bang as we expanded our operations and took on new challenges. As a result, we have been able to expand our operations to the new office in Nassau and establish a new presence in Turks and Caicos, Jamaica, Cyprus, and the Cayman Islands. We were incredibly proud to expand overseas with a new Amsterdam Office that created new opportunities for ParrisWhitaker in the future.

Recognition came for us from many sides. The Global Law Experts (GLE) team has recognized ParrisWhittaker as a legal expert on a national level for the Bahamas and Shipping & Maritime Law Experts in the Bahamas in the April of this year. In September, we were honored by GLE as a Distinction of Recommended Law Firm for the Bahamas.

Together with our legal team of experts, we created a small but trustful law firm that keeps bringing fantastic results in litigation, shipping, and maritime industry and brings resolutions for the local community in different cases.

From the Crystal Cruises case in which our partner Kenra ParrisWhittaker worked closely with the assignee resulting in the ultimate sale of two arrested ships for $128 million to the Westenhoefer v Coral Beach Management Company Ltd. case where ParrisWhittaker partner, Jacy Whittaker, representing the respondent Coral Beach Management, defeated all five grounds of appeal and succeeded in obtaining an order that the appellant meets substantial legal costs, this year brought us numerous successful cases. We are extremely proud that we took part in them.

No matter how much we expand and how many big opportunities we get, we are decided to keep our commitments to the community and work on all cases with the same passion. 

This year, we are especially proud of ParrisWhittaker’s partner George C. Missick whose efforts helped a local landowner win a legal battle against the Turks and Caicos Islands government earlier this spring. George also won a significant divorce case victory in The Supreme Court Of Action in The Turks and Caicos Islands No. D 3/21, in August 2022.

Additionally, this year has brought us another person to the team. Raisa Woodstock Lodenquai, the Jamaican lawyer, has joined ParrisWhittaker as a Senior Associate.

Who are the Global Excellence Awards?

Global Excellence Awards honors companies that have made significant achievements in their field for the last five years. They are a flagship program of Acquisition International magazine, a digital business publication with an international circulation of 108,500+ corporate professionals and c-level decision makers.

All the award recipients are selected through a merit-based system via research carried out by the Global Excellence Award impartial team rather than external nominations.
