Kenra Parris-Whittaker, Partner in the Bahamian law firm bearing her name, has been selected as a finalist for Legal Personality of the Year at the 2023 LexisNexis Legal Awards, to be held on March 23 in London.
About Kenra Parris-Whittaker
Kenra Parriss-Whittaker has been a Partner at the law firm bearing her last name since 2012. Born in Nassau and educated in the United Kingdom and Canada, Parriss-Whittaker received a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the UK’s University of Buckingham in 2004 and attended the prestigious Inns of Court School of Law in London. After becoming a barrister, Parris-Whittaker joined globally renowned legal firm Callenders & Co. There, she established a reputation as a litigator who was always prepared for the maritime and probate cases she handled.
As a formidable strategist, Parris-Whittaker strives to be several steps ahead of her legal opponents. She’s established a reputation for being able to get cases expedited; she’s also known by judges to have great respect for the legal system. Being young and energetic, she typically juggles multiple cases simultaneously.
In the past, Parris-Whattaker has obtained millions of dollars in legal settlements and favorable judgments. She frequently handles maritime, admiralty, probate, commercial, and personal injury cases (in the latter instance, representing injured plaintiffs, crew members, shipyard owners, corporations, vessel repair shops, and executors and executrices for large estates).
Parris-Whittaker was selected as a finalist for the Legal Personality of the Year award due to the many high-profile cases she’s handled. In fact, in the world of maritime law, Parris-Whittaker has been something of a trendsetter, and her expertise is sought after by clients all over the globe, including in the UK, Europe, Asia, and other regions. Finalists for all categories of the 2023 competition have been selected. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in London on March 23.
