ParrisWhittaker, a boutique law firm based in Freeport, Grand Bahama, received yet another in a growing line of awards when it landed a Lawyer’s World – Leading Lawyer Award recognizing them in the category Commercial, Corporate and Probate-North America, 2012.

ParrisWhittaker, born when two visionary legal minds,  Arthur K Parris, Jr and Jacy Whittaker, decided to found a law firm built on a more streamlined, efficient platform, has already begun to make waves in both the local and international scenes, garnering multiple awards in just a few, short years. This latest is particularly impressive, honouring them with the top award in a category that extends beyond the Caribbean, to include North America, as a true testament to their first-class capabilities, and the expanding reach of their law firm.

As Jacy Whittaker, founding partner, asserts, “When you’re as passionate about what you do as we are, it functions as its own reward. Nevertheless, we have been working really hard to expand our suite of services, our network and our visibility. It is quite rewarding when your successes are acknowledged and rewarded. We don’t see this as permission to relax; rather, it will drive us to continue performing at an extremely high level for our clients, for our country and for the region. “

This sentiment is perfectly at aligned with the ParrisWhittaker ideals. Despite its international outlook and multi-national network, ParrisWhittaker remains firmly dedicated the Bahamas as its foremost priority. As partner Kenra Parris-Whittaker puts it, “ParrisWhittaker is first a Bahamian enterprise. And when one Bahamian suceeds, the effects can be far-reaching, benefiting the entire country. This is  a large part of why we do what we do: to contribute to Bahamian progress.”

The honor was awarded after a thorough and lengthy decision-making process, which sifted through thousands of considerations before concluding that ParrisWhittaker was the firm that best exhibited a high degree of ability in complex situations, service and innovation, particularly within the context of today’s difficult economic climate.
